Forgotten Areas to Organize!
Spring cleaning is upon us! And any help we can get will help. So maybe these will help point you in the right direction!
Action Plan
- Make a list of what you need to do in terms of cleaning and organizing your home and closets.
- Then, take it one by one so you don’t feel overwhelmed.
- But there are always some areas in our home we forget! Here are some ideas:
- The pantry. Check every item for expiration dates and throw them out.
- Bathroom drawers/medicine cabinet. Again, check prescriptions as well as make-up to see what has expired or is just too old to use.
- Coat closet. I hope you are getting ready for your “twice a year switch-out” in your main closet as well as your children’s. But don’t forget the hall closet! Air out all the heavy, winter coats and take to the cleaners those that need to be cleaned. Also, organize the shelves in this closet. Perhaps purchase some plastic bins for your gloves, scarves, hats, etc. And purchase extra hangers for your guest’s coats.
- Linen closet. We forget sometimes what we actually have storage in this closet. Go through and get rid of those items you no longer use. And make a note of any towels, sheets or pillow cases you may now need to buy. You may also want to clean the shelves and lay fresh shelf paper down.
- Your car. Yes, it is an extension of ourselves and though it’s not part of the house, most of us live in our cars. If you can afford it, take everything out and then go to a car wash where they can clean it inside and out. Then, find containers for everything that you need to place back inside the car so it will stay organized.
Hope these tips help you get organized!
