I was driving the other day when I saw this sign: Caution Bump Ahead. I didn’t see anything, but my car felt a small bump as I drove over a hard to see speed bump.

Isn’t that how life is? We go about our day not thinking anything negative may happen when BUMP something does.

What is your bump today? It could be loss of income, an unexpected illness, family disconnect, marriage issues, fertility problems, or perhaps someone you love dies.

I’m encourage by what Jesus said: that in this life we will have troubles. He didn’t say if you have troubles!

I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world” John 16:33 NIV

Does that encourage you? It sure encourages me! I used to think I must be a bad sinner when bad things happened to me, but that is incorrect thinking. We will have troubles. We will be persecuted for our faith. I’m able to walk by faith each day, knowing that Jesus is with me to give me peace, no matter what may happen.

Action Plan

How do unknown bumps affect your home and life as you try to stay organized? It means we should work daily on keeping up with our homes in terms of reducing clutter and mess. We need keep to our schedule for when we clean, when we grocery shop and cook, when we do the laundry, when we spend time with our family/children/husbands, and the most important, when we spend time with our God.

Because we never know when a bump will happen, so we need to be as caught up with our daily lists as much as possible.

We are supposed to have a bad ice and snowstorm in the next few days. So, Scott and I made sure we were stocked up with groceries! Our outdoor faucets have covers on them as do some of our plants. We’ll run the dog outside today while the weather is still okay. We have extra flashlights set out in case the electricity goes out. And I’m getting all the laundry finished while we have hot water.

Yes! A bump is coming our way but if we take care of the daily items, we will be ready for when it comes.

Staying organized daily sure will help your life whenever a bump comes your way. And staying close to God.

Manna from Heaven

“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10

My prayer for you is that no matter what bumps come into your life, you rely on the Lord Jesus to get your through.
